The Revolution: Saving Theatre in NYC
It's a huge impossible task...but somebody's got to do it!

The revolution will not be televised.  No.  Instead, the revolution will be in the streets, in the theaters, on the stage, at the tip of your tongue: New York City Theatre is coming back!

It doesn't take a genius to see that Theatre has taken a backseat to Film and Television.  Even "money-raking" Broadway has been hit by this epidemic of apathy for an art form that has survived since mankind could speak.  Is this it?  Has the time come for Theatre to step aside and let Hollywood rule the entertainment world unchallenged?  The 7th Sign says "No!"...and we're not alone.

The popularity of Theatre has always fluctuated.  Like the tides of time, Theatre has exploded and withdrawn again and again throughout history.  But no blossom in the interest of Theatre has occurred without aid.  We cannot assume that Theatre will make another mighty comeback simply because history has told us so.  The return of Theatre needs our help.  Arists and audiences alike must unite and rekindle the fire that fuels the Theatre industry.

How Do We Save Theatre?

Support Theatre like never before.  Unite with your fellow artists.  Listen to your audiences and their needs.  Support the work of "rival" theatre companies.  Help each other adverstise productions.  Raise the quality of shows being performed.  There really is a million ways to save Theatre in the city...sadly, so few of them are being done.

The 7th Sign has decided it's high time to start the ball rolling. We're not saying we're the new poster children for New York Theatre. The truth is, there's no way we can do this alone. But once this fire starts catching, and everyone joins in this movement, there's no stopping it!
